With over 30 years’ experience in the Retail Financial Services, Insurance and Claims sectors, Shaun brings a wealth of experience to his role, having previously held senior positions as Retail Banking Director of Alliance & Leicester Plc, Global Managing Director of Thomas Cook Travel & Financial Services and Managing Director of BUPA Membership. More recently Shaun was Chief Executive of EMCAS, a large financial claims company where he led the acquisition of one of its largest competitors. Shaun also has extensive non-executive board experience with former roles including Senior Independent Director of CPP plc, NED of the Professional Financial Claims Association and is currently a non-executive director of the Funeral Planning Authority.


Jonny joined Quanta Law after holding several senior roles in the legal industry, such as Chief Operating Officer to ME Group Holdings Ltd as well as Director and Chief Executive Officer of Intelligent Claims Management Ltd (ICM), a software development business owned by Slater & Gordon, one of the UK’s largest law firms. Part of the Senior Executive at Slater and Gordon and CEO of Accident Advice Helpline, ACH Group Management Ltd and Intelligent Claims Management Ltd Jonny developed a deep understanding of the claimant sector from both a legal and technology perspective. He has also held management roles in Quindell plc, Albany, Nationwide Accident Services and the RAC.


Joseph Qualified in 1999 and set up his first Law Practice, BGR Bloomer Solicitors in 2003. Joseph’s specialist field of practice was personal injury law with an emphasis following the creation of Ryan’s Solicitors on road traffic litigation and high value related claims. As a Solicitor, Joseph has handled successful claims ranging up to £2,000,000. Joseph also acts as a consultant to firms to offer guidance on both practice development and assisted in developing case strategies in anticipation of defence practices and strategies. Joseph has trained, coached staff, identified & shared legal information and knowledge, while also developing practices and procedures to promote growth and profitability whilst maintaining an instilled duty to act in the client’s best interests. Joseph’s role has developed to assist with auditing, system development, process analysis and risk assessment.


Zafar qualified as a Solicitor in 2011.  He has considerable experience and success within the Consumer Credit jurisprudence.  He acted for Mrs Plevin in the landmark Supreme Court case (Plevin v Paragon Personal Finance Limited [2014] UKSC 61), which resulted in the Financial Conduct Authority issuing new rules and guidance on the handling of PPI complaints.  One such consequence was that the banks were required to send letters to 1.2 million previously rejected complainants, who were now eligible to make a further complaint.

Additionally, he was successful in the Court of Appeal case of McWilliam [McWilliam v Norton Finance (UK) Ltd [2015] EWCA 186, where it was held that the failure to disclose undisclosed commissions amounted to a breach of fiduciary duty. Zafar heads up the volume litigation department at Quanta, which specifically deal with Plevin and McWilliam type claims.


Jason is a skilled professional with over twenty years’ experience covering all aspects of accounting procedures specialising in management accounting, cashflow forecasting, expense management as well as legal cashiering and legal billing. He has a history of  gaining a quick understanding of organisational needs and instigating process and procedural improvements. Jason is a member of CIMA and AAT as well as gaining the diploma from ILFA (The Institute of Legal Finance and Management).


Ben has worked in private practice dealing with a range of civil litigation claims since 2007, and qualified as a solicitor in 2013. He joined Quanta Law in August 2020 as Head of Legal Operations to manage the Legal Team pursuing litigated mis-sold mortgage claims. He has considerable experience within financial mis-selling litigation, ranging from high volume complaints for individuals regarding consumer credit complaints – such as unaffordable payday loans and guarantor loans, or mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance. These complaints were pursued against the lenders / insurers directly and in many instances referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service resulting in over £10,000,000 in refunds for the clients. Ben has also successfully pursued large group litigation for undisclosed and / or unfair commission claims, unenforceable credit agreements and mortgage mis-selling.
